The Maidenhead United FC Community Trust has been awarded a grant of £25,000 by the National League Trust in support of our Wellbeing for All project.
The funding will support the delivery of a range of community events and activities for the next year. The activities include:
The ongoing delivery of our established and successful programmes as well as new activities, which include walking football, disability walking football, wellbeing walks (including training for walk leaders), and our older peoples’ physical and social engagement activities.
A new, mixed walking football session
New seated and standing exercise sessions including a new targeted dementia carer exercise session
Wellbeing Talks to local community groups
Ongoing support for our volunteers to help deliver befriending meet ups through our new Magpie Meetup offer
Promotional activity focus weeks and/or events focusing on targeted groups to offer advice as well as signposting to social and physical engagement activities delivered by the community trust and partners.
A calendar of community events to help inspire people to get involved locally
Supporting volunteers and staff to gain necessary skills and experience to support our community programmes
Helen Preedy, the Maidenhead United FC Community Trust Manager, said:
“For another year, National League Trust funding will enable us to respond to the growing needs of our local community.
“This includes supporting existing activities by removing cost barriers for those who need it most, as well as giving the Trust the flexibility to develop new ideas that keep people engaged. It also allows us to invest in the ongoing professional development of our staff and volunteers, ensuring we can offer activities with the right level of support.
“The Wellbeing for All project is also an opportunity to align with the club's CALM (Campaign against Living Miserably) partnership whilst continuing to meet the current needs of the community we serve.”

Note: The National League Trust is a partnership between the National League, the Premier League and the Professional Footballers’ Association. The Premier League and the PFA have committed to support the Trust until 2028. They will each contribute to a donation of £1.2m a year over this period. This allows the Trust is to help National League member clubs develop their community programmes.
