As we prepare tomorrow night’s Playoff Eliminator in Dorking, a significant milestone has been reached back home in Maidenhead this evening.
We’re delighted to share that the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead Cabinet has agreed to release the land at Braywick Park where we hope to build a new home for Maidenhead United.
This is a really positive milestone for the club, following extensive consultation and careful consideration by the Council. There is still important work ahead, including finalising legal agreements and preparing our full planning application, but this decision allows us to move forward with confidence.
Your support for Maidenhead United is invaluable. It means everything to the players and staff on the pitch, and it also underpins the wider work the club does across the community, from grassroots football to inclusion, wellbeing and volunteering. The strength of that support has been clear throughout the consultation process and has played a vital role in getting us to this point.
As we press on with these exciting plans, we’ll continue to engage openly with supporters and the wider community as the detailed proposals are developed, ahead of submitting a planning application later in the summer. Updates will be shared regularly via our website and social media channels. During the planning process, it is likely we will need you to show your support for the plans and to speak positively to your friends, family and contacts about what we are trying to achieve.
We’re also keen to hear from those who want to help us take the next step. In particular, we’re looking to connect with new commercial partners who want to be involved with a club that combines ambition on the pitch with a strong commitment to its community off it.
There’s still a journey ahead, but this decision represents a significant step towards securing a sustainable and inclusive future for Maidenhead United.
Thank you, as always, for your continued backing of the club.
Peter Griffin, Chairman
