Academy Trio Make Impression For Thatcham As Loan Rangers Star

The Magpies may have been out of action at the weekend, but a number of MUFC players out on loan continue to make an impression for their temporary employers.
Three young Magpies are currently on loan at Southern League Division One South side Thatcham Town, and winger Jamie Davies made it two goals in successive matches for the Kingfishers – managed by former Maidenhead striker Yashwa Romeo – as Thatcham recorded a much-needed 1-0 victory over Larkhall Athletic on Saturday afternoon.
Jamie told us: “I got slipped through for a one-on-one and smashed it front post! I’ve really enjoyed my loan period so far and it’s always nice to grab a few goals along the way to help the team out and win games. My teammates and the manager have been so welcoming since I came to the club and I hope I can help contribute to more goals and assist in further games to come.”
Jamie has been able to settle in quickly in West Berkshire, with fellow on-loan MUFC Academy graduates Jadyn Dundas and Christian Johnson also featuring in the side which defeated Larkhall.
Further westbound, down at Truro City defender Zac Bell got another 90 minutes under his belt as he helped the high-flying Cornishmen to a clean sheet at home in a goalless draw with Bath City in the National League South. In the Isuzu FA Trophy 5th Round, Truro’s divisional rivals Worthing gave National League promotion chasers Rochdale a tough encounter, with winger Ruben Carvalho also getting 90 minutes under his belt in a 2-1 defeat for the Sussex side.
