Maidenhead United are delighted to announce that Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) will be this season’s front-of-shirt sponsor for the third year in a row.
The club has proudly supported CALM since the beginning of the 2023/24 season, with CALM’s logo emblazoned across all of United’s home and away kits, including our men and women’s first teams, Juniors, and Futsal divisions among others.
Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) is a suicide prevention charity fighting to reduce the devastating impact of suicide in the UK. They run a life-saving helpline for anyone affected by suicide or suicidal thoughts. It’s free, anonymous and open from 5pm to midnight every day.
Their website has loads of tools and resources packed with practical, non-clinical advice to make talking and managing mental health easier. CALM also run vital campaigns to increase awareness, smash stereotypes, and change the culture around mental health and suicide.
The CALM Partnership, which aligns with one of Maidenhead United’s key objectives to ensure our community is connected to one another, is made possible due to the generosity of local businesses.
In addition to raising awareness, the partnership has allowed the club to raise money for CALM at the culmination of each season, with last month’s Charity Golf Day raising more than £5,600.
Luis Mackness, Services Manager – CALM Clubs, said: “It’s great to be on the front of MUFC’s kits for another season.
“CALM has been built on having a presence in places where people spend their free time. Hopefully they’ll be having a great time watching their side win, but either way we need to make sure that everyone connected to the club knows that CALM exists. Never forget that CALM provides life-saving services, information and advice to help anyone struggling with life to navigate the issues that can make us feel miserable.
“A massive thanks to the club and of course the partners for getting us on the front of the shirts again. We’ve got lots lined up that we hope will further support people in the community and we’re excited for the season ahead.”
Sian Lancaster, Commercial Director, commented: “We are delighted to continue our CALM Partnership for another season.
“CALM’s logo will be prominently displayed around York Road and across all of our kits under the Maidenhead United umbrella, and we feel it’s vitally important to raise awareness of the charity’s work.
“We must say a huge thank you to our local businesses who continue to support the CALM Partnership. We will be revealing more details very soon, but it’s not too late to get involved! If you or your business would like to support this initiative, please contact commercial@maidenheadunitedfc.org”
