Double Success at Football in Berkshire Awards

There was double success for Maidenhead United at the 2026 Football in Berkshire Awards as two club officials scooped the top honours. 

 

Maidenhead United Women manager Dave Kitson won the Manager of the Season – Women’s Game award at the ceremony on Wednesday, 10th June. In his maiden season, Kitson steered the Magpies into 5th place – their highest ever league finish in the FA Women’s National League – despite being challenged with a major rebuild over the summer of 2025. MUWFC also reached the Berks and Bucks Senior County Cup Final, and enjoyed a fruitful run in the Combined Counties League Cup by reaching the semi-final. 

 

Club Secretary Neil Maskell was recognised as Berkshire’s Football Writer of the Season. Recognisable to all who’ve ever attended York Road, Maskell plays a crucial role in supporting all of the club’s outfits, from registering players to entering our teams into their relevant competitions. In a written capacity, Maskell edits the club’s matchday programmes, while keeping supporters informed on the women’s team’s progress via the club website. When we’re not keeping him busy at York Road, he’s also a volunteer contributor to Football in Berkshire, contributing interviews, match reports, historical pieces – and everything in between.
