Maidenhead United Women started February - which looks to be a key month for the team – with a solid goalless draw at Portishead Town last Sunday afternoon. Magpies Freya Meadows-Tuson (pictured) – at the end of only her second game back at the club after a spell in the United States – was voted ‘opposition player of the match’ and reflected after the game that “credit goes to the girls for coming out and performing how they did in the second half, as our first half wasn’t up to standards. We were unlucky to come away without the win but it is momentum we can take into Moneyfields on Sunday.” The visit of league leaders Moneyfields will take place at Holloways Park, home of Beaconsfield Town FC with a 2pm kick off on Sunday 9th February.

The following midweek United are back at York Road on Wednesday 12th February when they entertain basement side Southampton Women’s FC (7:45pm). Admission for all of United’s home matches is FREE for Maidenhead United Gold Members, otherwise £5 for adults and £2 concessions. The big Berks & Bucks Cup semi-final at Reading is also on the horizon, due to be played at Arbour Park, Slough on Sunday 16th February.

Meanwhile, United’s Development team recorded a fine 3-1 victory at Cox Green Leisure Centre last Sunday afternoon. Katie Akerman, Macey-Nikah Walters and Ava Broke-Smith were the goal scorers. The Devs will visit divisional leaders Watford on Development on Sunday.
