Maidenhead United Women are delighted to welcome on board The Underdog Podcast Network as Player Sponsor for Katie Akerman.
Founded in 2015 as Deep-ish Thoughts, their website was re-branded in 2017 as Underdog Sports whose talented writers covered the entire sports world. Over the next three years, Underdog Sports began to write less, and podcast more getting to the point where the Underdog Sports Podcast network has become one of the most formidable networks of its kind. In 2021 Underdog change into their final form — Underdog Podcasts. Underdog Podcasts now boasts 40+shows, spanning numerous different categories — with other shows in the pipeline.
Katie Akerman is a great example of the Underdog spirit which underpins Maidenhead United. Coming up against sides with big budgets in Tier 4 of women's football, we are now in our tenth season at National League level and Vice-Captain Katie is in the form of her life, scoring seven goals from midfield in the first half of the campaign as the Magpies look to secure a best-ever top half finish under manager Dave Kitson.
