Maidenhead United Ladies Walking Football team were crowned league winners on Sunday, 1st February after capping off a hard-fought Thames Valley Walking Football League Division 4 campaign.
The TVWFL Division 4 campaign began in September 2025, and it was a fruitful start to the season for Maidenhead who suffered only two defeats in the first three round of fixtures.
Maidenhead were top of the table going into the fourth and final day of fixtures, earning four points from four successive 0-0 draws. A narrow 1-0 defeat to South Reading threatened the top spot, but challengers Hersham could only muster a point against Woking, allowing Maidenhead to claim the title with 33 points – tied with Hersham but better by two on goal difference.
Captain Debs Smirfitt (pictured above) said: “The work rate to close down space was relentless, and everyone played their part in keeping games tight. Communication and commitment across the pitch were clear in every match.
“While goals were hard to come by today, the resilience, focus, and collective effort shown across the players proved decisive, securing the League 4 Winners title and a fantastic way to end the season.
“This success marks the start of an exciting next chapter for us, with two Ladies Walking Football teams set to compete next season, built on the progress and standards established this year.”
