Magpies Women win the cup!
Posted on 16th May 2024
Maidenhead United Women are now holders of the Combined Counties League Cup following a win via penalties against Fulham FC.
The game was played on Wednesday night at Burnham FC with a bumper crowd in attendance.
Izzy Stockton gave the Magpies the lead in the first half after twenty minutes but Fulham levelled before half-time thanks to a strike from range courtsey of Tessa Allen.
Sasha Adamson gave Fulham the lead early in the second half with the West Londoners looking likely to leave with the trophy.
That was until the 86th minute when Sarah Thompson headed the Magpies level and forced the game to go to penalties.
Maidenhead United would win 5-3 on penalties to win the Combined Counties League Cup.
We'd like to congratulate them for this magnificent achievement.
