Maidenhead United FC Community Trust is delighted to announce the launch of its new befriending service, Magpie Meetups, thanks to funding from the Heathrow Community Trust.

The project builds on the success of the Trust’s previous wellbeing initiatives and aims to reduce isolation by connecting people, particularly those aged 60+ through small, volunteer-led social groups.

Each group will include a volunteer facilitator and up to six participants, meeting regularly at local venues to enjoy conversation, companionship, and the chance to get involved in new community activities.

Angela Gomes, Maidenhead United Wellbeing Manager, said: "We are so proud to be launching Magpie Meetups, this project will help people feel more connected, valued, and supported in our community.”

We would love to hear from you if you have an interest in joining or volunteering in one of Magpie Meetup groups. For more information and to get involved, contact Angela Gomes at wellbeing@maidenheadunitedgfc.org
