Top-tier FA accreditation recognises Juniors’ rapid growth and commitment to safe, high-quality grassroots football.
Maidenhead United FC Juniors is proud to announce that it has been awarded FA Chartered Club Level 3 status - the highest tier of accreditation in The FA’s national club kitemark programme (now delivered under England Football Accreditation as a 3-Star Club).
The accreditation is a significant milestone for the Juniors, who were brought together as a unified section in 2019 and have grown rapidly under the “United as One” banner that firmly connects all sections of Maidenhead United FC.
What Level 3 status means...
FA Chartered Club Level 3 is awarded only to clubs that demonstrate excellence well beyond the minimum standard. To achieve it, a club must show it offers a broad and inclusive football programme, supported by qualified coaches, strong safeguarding, sound governance and a clear long-term development plan.
Key benefits and assurances of Level 3 status include:
A safe and inclusive environment for every player, with FA-compliant safeguarding policies, a trained Club Welfare Officer, and DBS-checked volunteers across the club.
Qualified, dedicated coaches - all youth teams led by coaches holding the FA Introduction to Coaching Football qualification, in-date Safeguarding Children certification and Introduction to First Aid in Football training.
Commitment to The FA’s Respect programme, promoting positive behaviour from players, coaches, parents and spectators on and off the pitch.
Football for all - opportunities for players of all ages and abilities across multiple formats, from mini-soccer through to 11-a-side.
A sustainable, well-run club - strong governance, transparent committee structures and a multi-year development plan that sets out the club’s ambitions.
Access to greater FA support - including tailored guidance from The FA and Berks & Bucks County FA, equipment and vouchers, Nike Strike footballs, and improved access to funding for facilities and player development.
Recognition as a leading grassroots club in the local area, helping the Juniors attract new players, coaches and volunteers.
For parents, players and the wider Maidenhead community, the award is an independent confirmation that the Juniors are committed to the highest standards on and off the pitch.
A proud moment for the club...
Mark Camp-Overy, Chair of Maidenhead United FC Juniors, said:
“Achieving FA Chartered Club Level 3 status is a tremendous moment for everyone connected with Maidenhead United FC. When we came together in 2019, our goal was simple: to give every child the chance to play football in a safe, fun and welcoming environment. To be recognised at the highest level of the FA’s accreditation scheme just a few years on is a huge testament to the dedication of our volunteers, coaches, parents and players.
“This award belongs to everyone who has given their time to build this club - and it sets the foundation for an even brighter future for grassroots football in Maidenhead.”
Looking ahead...
With Level 3 status now secured, Maidenhead United FC Juniors will continue to focus on growing participation, developing coaches, and providing the best possible playing experience for every child who pulls on the black and white shirt.
