Maidenhead United is proud to unveil the launch of Maidenhead United XLFC.
XLFC is a structured, community-based weight-loss programme that uses football as the catalyst to bring men together and support lasting lifestyle change. Far more than just weekly football sessions, XLFC combines physical activity, nutrition guidance, and group accountability to help participants improve their health, confidence and well-being, all while enjoying the game they love.
After successful launches in Reading and Newbury, Maidenhead United XLFC’s sessions will take place every Friday evening at Bisham Abbey. Sessions start at 6:30pm with the first hour being in the studio for the strength and conditioning session, followed by an hour on the pitch from 7:30-8:30pm.
The weekly sessions, ran by minimum FA Level 1 Coaches, aim to make sure your game improves, alongside your overall fitness and endurance. Strength and conditioning is overseen by a minimum Level 3 Qualified Personal Trainer, while participants will also receive weekly weigh-ins and progress reports. A football league style weight loss table provides an element of competitiveness, with annual awards for those who shed the most weight!
Helen Preedy, Maidenhead United FC Community Trust manager, said: “We’re really excited to bring XLFC to Maidenhead.
“The programme has already made a huge difference in other towns, helping men improve their fitness, confidence and wellbeing through football.
“At Maidenhead United, we believe football is for everyone, and initiatives like this show how the game can bring people together to support each other on and off the pitch.
“We can’t wait to see the positive impact XLFC will have on our local community.”
Chris Broadhurst, CEO of XLFC, said: “We’re thrilled to be partnering with Maidenhead United FC to bring XLFC to the local community.
“This partnership is about connection, support, and making a positive, lasting difference in people’s lives.
“We’re proud to be working alongside a club that shares our commitment to community impact and helping people thrive.”
