It’s our final midweek game of the season at York Road as we welcome Aldershot Town to Berkshire. 

 

The Magpies will be buoyed by Saturday’s 2-0 win over Gateshead, in which Manny Onariase and Shawn McCoulsky helped secure a much-needed three points. The result elevated United into 19th and a point clear of the relegation zone, but there can be no letting off the gas with teams below them holding games in hand. 

 

Tuesday’s visitors come to Maidenhead in a good run of form having amassed 13 points in their last five – a feat which puts them behind only Barnet in the five-game form table. There will, nevertheless, be concerns over fatigue from the visiting side. Thanks to a successful FA Trophy run and a National League Cup quarter-final, the Shots are due to play every Saturday and Tuesday until 12th April – a tough challenge having played seven games already over the past 30 days. 

 

The two sides have shared the spoils in recent years, with the home team in each fixture winning the last three encounters by scoring four in 90 minutes. The Shots were the victors in a 4-3 thriller back in August last year, but United only have to wind back the calendar 12 months for their last victory over Aldershot at York Road.
