The Magpies make the trip around the M25 to Essex to take on Braintree Town at Cressing Road on Tuesday evening. 

 

It’s a crucial game for two sides towards the bottom end of the table. United currently sit 22nd in the Vanarama National League on 16 points, with Braintree three points ahead in 20th. 

 

Alan Devonshire will be hoping for a repeat of our last visit to his former club. It was a late-summer’s afternoon to remember with goals from Adrian Clifton and Ayo Obileye securing the three points in August 2018. 

 

The Irons’ recent run of form was disrupted by Boston United on Saturday. having previously enjoyed 1-0 and 2-1 wins over AFC Fylde and Eastleigh respectively. The Magpies, meanwhile, have lost their last four in the league in a winless run which has seen two goals scored and 13 conceded.
