Dagenham & Redbridge vs Maidenhead United

Head to head

The Magpies make an important trip to East London this weekend to take on Dagenham & Redbridge in the Vanarama National League.

Of their seven remaining games, five of them are against teams in the bottom seven, and Saturday’s encounter marks the first six-pointer of the season’s final month.

A win for United combined with favourable results in the North and Somerset will lift them out of the relegation zone at the expense of Saturday’s hosts. A promising performance against playoff-chasing Rochdale last weekend will boost confidence for Alan Devonshire’s side, who will need all the support from the travelling faithful at Victoria Road.

Dagenham’s miserable 2025 came to an end last Tuesday, with a 1-0 win at Halifax securing their first three-point rise up the table since New Year’s Day. That said, Dagenham’s latter-season dip has landed a side once eying up a playoff push in an agonising relegation battle. The unbeaten run stretched to two last Saturday, with Will Davies’ late equaliser denying the Daggers a second win in succession.

Both teams have amassed a point a game in their last five, and they both gained one against each other in the reverse fixture at York Road six months ago. Nevertheless, United only need to turn the calendar back two years to find their last victory at Victoria Road, when Shawn McCoulsky and Charlee Adams scored at either end of the first half to advance through to the fifth round of the FA Trophy.
