Forest Green Rovers vs Maidenhead United

Head to head

After a valiant effort was cruelly denied a point on Tuesday against 2nd-placed York, United will be looking to bounce back against 3rd-placed Forest Green Rovers as we make a trip down the M4 to the New Lawn this Saturday.

The Magpies made inroads on their relegation rivals during the first half of February, with two wins against Southend and Oldham to go with a hard-fought point at Hartlepool. Their past week, however, has been less fortuitous with two-goal defeats at home to Yeovil and York.

Rovers will also be looking to put the latter half of the past month behind them. Their push for automatic promotion grounded to a halt with a 2-0 defeat at Braintree followed by a point apiece against Ebbsfleet and Woking.

The New Lawn has been a place of points for this weekend’s hosts, who hold the best defensive record at home in the league with only 11 conceded in 16 games. While a much-needed result won’t be easy, the Magpies can be confident that their improved record of late is unlikely to see a repeat of the 4-1 defeat in the reverse fixture last November.
