Maidenhead United Women face a stiff test on the opening day of the season, as they entertain the ambitious title-favourites Moneyfields at York Road on Sunday 16th August.
The Hampshire club have finished second in the FA Women's National League Division 1 South West in successive seasons, a division from which only one team is guaranteed automatic promotion to Tier 3. Kitson said: “Moneys have had a manager change, having came so close last year, finishing second on the final day before an epic battle with Norwich in the play-off which they lost on penalties. It must have been a huge disappointment around the club. Like most other teams some players have left, new ones have come in and I am sure they’ll be strong again this season. We had two good games against them last season and we are looking forward to matching them up again this season”
Kitson added: “We have worked hard in pre-season, we knew the areas we wanted to improve where the squad needed help and we are really looking forward to getting starred and we are chomping at the bit and looking forward to it.”

The match kicks off at 2pm at York Road. Gates will open from 1245pm.

All ground entry is via the York Road entrance to the ground, SL6 1SF. Well-behaved dogs on a lead are welcome at these matches. Tea Bar 1 on the York Road side of the ground will be open, serving a variety of hot and cold food and snacks as well as hot and cold drinks. Stripes Bar is open before, during and after the match. In line with league rules, alcohol can be consumed whilst watching the game.
