Maidenhead United make the short trip to the VBS Community Stadium this weekend to take on Sutton United. 

 

The two sides face each other for the first time in three-and-a-half years following Sutton’s spell in the English Football League. Their return to the National League may be welcomed by the Magpies, who have traditionally enjoyed encounters between the sides. Prior to the Us 2020/21 promotion season where they completed the double over Alan Devonshire’s squad, Maidenhead had not lost to Sutton since 2013. 

 

Both outfits will be looking to recuperate form having enjoyed unbeaten runs earlier in the season. Sutton have only won one of their last five across all competitions, while Maidenhead’s last regular time victory came against Taunton one month ago. 

 

Sutton currently sit mid-table, and six points clear of a relegation zone headed by the Magpies. A win for either of the Uniteds could see them jump several places in a tightly-contested Vanarama National League.
