Maidenhead United vs Sutton United

Head to head

The Magpies welcome Sutton United to York Road for the last of nine fixtures across a 28-day period.

Postponements and rearranged fixtures meant United faced back-to-back Saturday and Tuesday games in a run which began at home to Southend on Saturday 8th February. Despite a strong start with two wins in three league games, the Magpies have struggled of late with tough clashes against promotion-chasing opponents, combined with less-than-expected performances against Yeovil and Braintree, leading to an uncomfortable position of 22nd with 11 games to play.

Sutton have also struggled with a congested February, not helped by FA Trophy and National League Cup obligations. Despite a strong start following relegation from League Two at the end of last season, Sutton have somewhat faltered in recent weeks. The Yellows were undefeated for the first month of 2025, but have since failed to pick up a league win since a 1-0 win over Eastleigh on Saturday, 25th January.

It's perhaps no surprise that this fixture is 18th v 19th in the five-game form table. Saturday’s visitors have amassed 21 of their 44 points on the road, and come into the game looking for only their second win at York Road since 2013. The Magpies, meanwhile, will be looking to avenge the 1-0 defeat at Gander Green Lane back in November and push on up the table as we enter the final ten games of the campaign.
