Woking vs Maidenhead United

The Magpies travel to the Kingfield Stadium on New Year’s Day in a crucial clash away to Woking.
The two sides did not meet once in 2024, but both have suffered similar fortunes so far this campaign. Just two points separate United and Woking in the Vanarama National League, with the 17th-placed Cards heading a six-club battle to escape the remaining two relegation spots.
Much like Maidenhead, Woking faced an important six-pointer on Boxing Day, coming away from Aldershot with a 2-2 draw. The Magpies fared much better in a 3-1 win at home to Wealdstone, marking the fourth victory of the season over sides in the bottom third of the table.
Both sides have a form guide akin to a pack of Starburst, but United’s nine goals across the last five league games is nearly double that of Woking (four). United have earned seven points in their last five, while Woking have amassed a point a game on average.
A look back at the head-to-heads indicate a 0-0 could be on the way if last season’s results are anything to go by. That said, the home team have typically fared better when the Magpies play the Cards, with the last away win coming in 2019’s televised fixture at York Road.
