Maidenhead United vs York City

Head to head

The Magpies welcome York City to York Road for our first home fixture of 2025 on Saturday, 11th January.

Alan Devonshire’s side will be looking to avenge the 6-2 defeat suffered in the reverse fixture at the end of November, but it will be no easy feat against the promotion-pushing Minstermen.

Adam Hinshelwood recently bolstered his squad with the signing of 21-year-old Josh Stones from League One’s Wigan Athletic. The in-form striker scored four goals in six league appearances during a short loan spell at Oldham, and could make his debut at York Road this weekend.

Maidenhead will be benefitting from fresher legs with no FA Trophy obligations last weekend. The Magpies last game, in fact, will have been ten days prior for the 3-1 defeat against Woking, in which a positive performance was ultimately not rewarded with a positive result.

The Woking game saw Miles Welch-Hayes receive a red card, thus meaning he is suspended for this weekend’s fixture, while Thierry Latty-Fairweather will also be absent for the game against his parent club. Fear not, though, as the new signings of Ricky Korboa and Noah Stewart could make their home debuts this weekend.
