Maidenhead United vs York City

Head to head

The Magpies welcome York City to York Road for our second home fixture in three days.

An unbeaten February came to an end on Saturday as Alan Devonshire’s side lost 2-0 to Yeovil Town. It marked the first league defeat at home since the end of November for the Magpies, who’ve amassed 19 of their 33 points at York Road despite playing fewer games in Berkshire.

York, meanwhile, secured a last-minute equaliser after being 2-0 down with only three minutes played on Saturday afternoon. While nine points adrift of league leaders Barnet, York’s two games in hand – Tuesday’s fixture being one of them – can take them within three points of the Bees if they are successful in both.

Alan Devonshire’s side will be looking to avenge the 6-2 defeat suffered in the reverse fixture at the end of November in which Ashley Nathaniel-George scored against his former club. However, the ex-Magpie’s presence on Tuesday is in doubt after a red card in the 95th minute at the LNER Community Stadium.

York have previously been successful at the stadium which shares their name, albeit their form on-the-road has been poor comparatively. Of their 64 points earned so far this season, only 21 of them have come on their travels.
