Competitive football is back at York Road! 

 

Almost three months to the day since the conclusion of the last, the league season gets underway this Saturday as we welcome Chesham United to Berkshire. 

 

Saturday’s fixture kicks off a busy opening month to the campaign with six games in three jam-packed weeks, including two further home fixtures against Hemel Hempstead and Horsham. 

 

The Magpies haven’t faced our visitors for over six years when they played out a 3-3 draw in the Berks & Bucks Senior Cup, with former Magpie Jefferson Louis amongst the scorers for the visitors in front of 185 fans. Nana Owusu grabbed a brace along with a singular strike from Adrian Clifton, but these goals weren't enough as United lost 4-5 on penalties. 

 

The last league meeting between the two sides at York Road took place on 20th August 2002. Adrian Allen scored twice with Lee Channell, Steve Croxford and Matt Glynn scoring in an emphatic 5-0 Maidenhead victory. 

 

A huge rebuild this summer, with 12 permanent signings, means many new faces will be on show, along with many popular ones from last season. 

 

Everyone at Maidenhead United is excited to see your faces walking through those turnstiles once again, as we all look to back this team to an immediate return to where they belong.
