Enfield Town vs Maidenhead United

Match Preview

Our first away trip of the season takes us to Enfield Town and the Queen Elizabeth II Stadium.

Enfield Town are England’s first fully fan-owned senior football club when in 2001 they separated from Enfield FC due to concerns about the direction of the club.

It will be United’s first clash with Saturday’s hosts as they have risen through the leagues in their fairly short history. The Magpies did face up against Enfield FC in the 2002/03 season playing out a 1-1 and 3-3 draw.

Promoted to the National League South via the playoffs in 2024, the Towners finished 19th in their debut campaign at the level.

An integral part of the Queen Elizabeth II Stadium is the main pavillion, completed in 1953, it is a Grade II listed building built in Art Deco style, and serves as the club's clubhouse, main stand and changing rooms.

Along with this, the town of Enfield is honoured to be the home of the world’s first modern cash machine which was installed at a Barclays branch in June 1967.

Both sides are looking to get their first points of the season on the board. As the Magpies suffered an opening day defeat to Chesham United, while our hosts were defeated 3-1 at the hands of Torquay United, with club captain Micky Parcell on the scoresheet.
