In the second of four fixtures in the space of nine days, United welcome Hemel Hempstead Town to York Road. 

 

A first Enterprise National League South game under the lights for the campaign sees us host last season’s 12th-placed side. 

 

The last meeting between the two sides came in the festive period of 2022, where the Magpies ran out 3-2 winners in the FA Trophy. A brace from Kane Ferdinand was followed up by Ashley Nathaniel-George’s strike, which secured United’s spot in the Fourth Round, before the cup run climaxed in the fifth. 

 

The last home league meeting between the sides finished 5-0 to the Magpies, Dave Tarpey scored four and was capped off with Christian Smith's single strike. Current first-team players Harry Pritchard and Sam Barratt featured on the night, while current Assistant Manager Ryan Peters also started.  

 

Hemel Hempstead, home to the country's first purpose-built multi-storey car park since 1960, ingeniously carved into the side of a hill in Marlowes, have enjoyed a strong start to the season, drawing 1-1 with Maidstone on the opening day before defeating Slough Town 1-0 on the weekend. Joe White opened the scoring early on against the Rebels, before Mauro Vilhete was dismissed in added time and will be suspended for Tuesday’s clash.
