Maidstone United vs Maidenhead United
Match Preview
Our league campaign resumes this Saturday as we embark on a trip to the Gallagher Stadium to take on Maidstone United.
The match, one which will confuse those who believe Maidenhead is in Kent, sees both teams look to bounce back from a disappointing weekend in the Emirates FA Cup. The Magpies lost to Faversham Town last Saturday, with the Stones having lost to Folkestone Invicta the evening before.
Both MUFCs have met on multiple occasions, most recently in 2023 where the Magpies won 2-1 thanks to two early goals from Emile Acquah. Saturday’s hosts took the spoils in the reverse fixture, however, in a 3-2 win at the Gallagher the previous November.
Maidstone, home to the UK’s largest independent television studios where Later... with Jools Holland, Deal or No Deal, and Art Attack are filmed, come into the tie on a sluggish run of form. The Stones have shipped three goals in each of their last three league fixtures – a slump which sees them sat 15th in the National League South. The Magpies, meanwhile, are looking to build on a great run of league form to make it five wins from their last five.
