Maidenhead United are delighted to announce that Matt Robinson has agreed a deal to extend his stay with the club.
Matt joined in the summer as further reinforcements to the United midfield. Cementing his place in the team early on, his role has only grown and has been seen donning the armband on multiple occasions this campaign.
Kama’s presence in the team has been felt since his arrival, featuring 31 times already this campaign. His impressive performances in midfield have not gone under the radar with many supporters and the management team.
In his 31 appearances, Kama has scored three goals all crucial in securing three points on each occasion. His first for United goal, he struck on the volley to score the only goal in what has become colloquially known as the ‘Maid Derby’.
Following one volley with an even more impressive one, Robbo once again wrapped up three points this time with a spectacular strike from 25 yards late on against Horsham. One to put his name comfortably in the hat for Goal of the Season award, he struck on his right foot into the top corner for a 2-1 win in front of the travelling Mags.
Sending our loyal travelling supporters into raptures is something Kama has become all too familiar with as he replicated that feet last week against Tonbridge Angels. He rose highest in the middle of the area to head in a Josh Popoola free-kick before wheeling away in celebration past the jubilant away end.
Manager Ryan Peters said: “I have been a fan of Matt’s for a number of years. Having watched him through the years, he had a level of leadership to match his capabilities. When we were finally able to acquire him, it came as no surprise to me that he would be instrumental in spearheading us to a potential playoff spot.
“His experience provides solace for our younger players, alongside his standards and expectations. He is key to our thinking and thought processes and we are very happy that he has chosen to extend his stay with us.”
