All at Maidenhead United are saddened to hear of the passing of long-time supporter Mick Vogel who has died after a short illness.

Proud Liverpudlian Mick had lived down south for much of his life and - aside from his passions for Everton FC, Maidenhead United and the wildlife of Cookham that he showed such a talent for capturing with his camera lens - he was a devoted family man and long-term partner to Michelle. Mick would often be seen at York Road with his beloved grandchildren Chloe and George.

Mick was a regular spectator at Magpies home and away fixtures - often wearing his MUFC scarf with his Everton hat - and he made many friends following the club who will be deeply saddened at his sudden loss. When not watching the Magpies he could regularly be found doing jobs around the ground and even turned his talent for photography into capturing magic Maidenhead United moments with his lens.

Even during his recent illness he kept his trademark sense of humour and only last month he was thrilled that one of his nature shots had been used on the BBC Springwatch programme.

Maidenhead United sends its condolences to Mick's family and friends at this sad time and we will pay suitable tribute to a loyal supporter and volunteer at a forthcoming match.
