Mixed Bag For Magpies 65-and-over walking footballers

The Magpies 65-and-over Walking Footballers played their latest round of fixtures on Tuesday afternoon at Bisham Abbey and took 4 points from their 4 matches.
The squad was: Reg, Peter, Mark, Chris, Rob, Stewart, Martin.
The team had a tough game to start up against Bracknell, although Maidenhead set up well they were soon under pressure and two goals from the usual Bracknell suspects sealed their fate. In the derby game against Slough, United started to play with more intent but a 1-1 draw was a fair result.
Oxford United meanwhile have been an improving team and were our next opposition. Maidenhead were maybe just edging the game on goal chances and a goalless draw looked likely, until a poor back pass was seized upon and poked in for an undeserved defeat.
Maidenhead really needed a win to end the session and with Hemel Hempstead next up the Magpies rallied. Maidenhead set about them right from the off and recorded their best performance of the day and a 1-0 win was just reward. Well taken goals from Mark and Peter gave Maidenhead some cheer on the day with good displays from Reg and Stewart.
