Maidenhead United was saddened to hear of the sudden passing this week of long term and long-distance supporter Howard Goold at the age of 75. Howard generously sponsored Sam Barratt’s playing shirts and is pictured above receiving signed replica shirts from Sam at York Road earlier this season.
Howard's wife Heather paid tribute to her husband: “I’m devastated to have lost such a good person, a wonderful husband and best friend. Howard loved supporting Maidenhead United even when we moved to Herefordshire. Following the team news and matches was something that gave him much pleasure.”
A minute’s applause in memory of Howard is planned prior to the match with Farnborough at York Road on Saturday 7th February. The thoughts of all at MUFC are with Heather and Howard’s extended family at this sad time.
