Maidenhead United’s 2025 pre-season schedule got underway on Tuesday night with a 4-0 win over Flackwell Heath.

Alan Devonshire fielded four new faces in the starting XI along with one trialist as the hosts kicked us off at Wilks Park.

The first half-hour was a quiet affair, with left back Jordon Raggutte coming closest. His interception and darting run culminated in a shot which drifted wide of the right post.

However, it wasn’t long before United took the lead through Manny Onariase. Having been made a permanent addition over the summer, Onariase latched onto a cross from fellow centre-half Will de Havilland and headed home.

The Magpies added a second header to the goal column on the cusp of half-time. Sam Barratt and Ragguette linked up well, with the latter delivering a cross straight into the path of Trialist A, who beat the ‘keeper as the half-time whistle blew.

Half-time: Flackwell Heath 0-2 Magpies

Trialist G and Ryan Bartley joined the action for the second half, and the goalscoring continued with Barratt once again involved, this time getting himself on the scoresheet. Asher Yearwood delivered a low corner, which Barratt nodded home for United’s third.

Another trialist would make his mark, this time Trialist D. The forward was played through in the box, powering home from close range for the Magpies’ fourth.

United held on as the sun set on Wilks Park, with little else to report during the closing stages of play.

Full-time: Flackwell Heath 0-4 Magpies

The Magpies next pre-season friendly will be a behind closed doors fixture against Oxford United on Tuesday, 15th July. Four days later, we’ll take on a West Ham U23 side at York Road on Saturday, 19th July.
