Sunday's FAWNL encounter between Moneyfields and Maidenhead United at the John Jenkins Stadium went to form as the Division 1 South West top-scorers - who had scored thirteen goals in their last two league matches - was won by three goals to nil by the hosts but coach Sean Hillier praised "a much better peformance from the goals" as only "fine details separated the teams."

This was always likely to be a difficult game as Moneys once again look likely to be in the pack of teams fighting for one promotiin spit at the top of the table, with Swindon Town and Bristol Rovers joining the Hampshire side in moving clear of the rest of the division. The hosts led inside the opening twenty minutes through Megan Fox and United looked like going into the break with the opportunity to regroup before Daisy Beard added a killer second just before half time. Ali Hall completed the scoring midway through the second half.

United now go into a cup fixture at York Road against Bridgwater United in the FAWNL Plate competition on Sunday 19th October. United had the better of a 1-1 draw between the sides in Somerset last month so they will feel that Sunday's fixture - a 2pm kick off, with adults paying £5 and concessions £2, with MUFC Gold Members going FREE - presents an opportunity of progression in a cup competitition.

The Development team meanwhile are out of their League Cup competition following a 6-0 defeat at Billericay Town. They face the same opposition on Sunday in a league fixture at Cox Green Leisure Centre.
