Maidenhead United ramped home their first victory of pre-season in a 4-1 win over Holyport.
The Magpies took the lead inside 11 minutes, with Trialist A converting a lovely half-volley from inside the area. United had a chance to make it two when Trialist A was tripped, but Josh Coley fired wide from the spot. The midfielder soon redeemed himself, however, with a superb assist to Alfie Pendlebury to make it 2-0 before the break.
Holyport halved the deficit early in the second 45, but the two-goal advantage was quickly restored as Jordon Ragguette latched onto a through ball and scored from a tight angle. United’s fourth and final goal of the evening came indirectly from a cross which was only parried away by the Holyport ‘keeper, allowing Dan Nkrumah to tap home his first in a Maidenhead shirt.
The Magpies are back home at York Road this Saturday hosting Southampton U21 (3pm KO). Tickets are available via our ticketing portal, with cash and card accepted on the turnstile.
