Maidenhead United are delighted to confirm Ryan Peters as the Men’s First Team Manager, signing on a two-year contract with the club.

Peters enters his twelfth year associated with Maidenhead, following a successful playing career, time spent as Assistant Manager to Alan Devonshire and his spell as Interim Manager last campaign.

He started his tenure in fine fashion with a statement 2-0 victory over then league leaders Hornchurch. Giles Phillips got his head onto a Josh Popoola halfway through the first half, before Jayden Mitchell-Lawson wrapped up all three points from the edge of the area in added time. Further wins over Dagenham & Redbridge, Maidstone United and Dorking Wanderers, to name a few, saw United continuing to compete and defeat those in and around the top seven.

During his interim spell, no side picked up more points in the National League South than Ryan Peters’ Maidenhead United. 50 points from the 27 games including 14 wins (a joint league-best) and eight draws saw United rise from 13th to 7th and ultimately securing a Play-off spot on the last day of the season.

His interim spell also saw United’s defensive security reinforced as the squad ended the season with the best defensive record across Step 2 conceding just 41 goals, while also keeping 18 clean sheets.

We are also delighted to confirm Aaron O’Brien, Liam Vaughan and Ryan Watts will continue their roles as part of Ryan Peters’ coaching staff.

Immediately following the announcement, Ryan Peters said: “I'm delighted; the interim title has been there for a little while [and] it's gone now. It was a really good season and now [I'm] looking to push on as the manager - I'm hoping for a similar season, if not better.

"It means a lot, I've spent I suppose just as much time as I've spent at home here, so I've got to know quite a lot of the people here. It's a fantastic club, a family club. I'm delighted to be the manager of this fantastic club and I'm now pushing hopefully to give us some success."

Club Chairman, Peter Griffin, said: “We’re delighted that Ryan has agreed to join us, and on a two-year contract to be permanent manager.

“I think the combination there [between Ryan and the club] could be fantastic, and we think Ryan’s going to be a hugely successful manager, and we’re delighted that he’s joined us.”
