Maidenhead United are delighted to announce the signing of young forward Daniel Nkrumah.
The 22-year-old joins following the expiration of his contract at Worthing, while having spent the latter part of last season on loan at Hampton & Richmond.
It was an impressive end to the season for Ryan Peters’ second summer recruit as he scored four in the last five games of last campaign. A debut brace against Horsham was the welcome to the Beveree he was looking for, a brilliant strike for the first before sliding in a poacher’s finish for his second.
It was a brace again as Farnborough were put to the sword by Nkrumah just under two weeks later. Showing his versatility in finishing, Daniel opened the scoring with a brilliant diving header inside the opening quarter of an hour. Before sliding in on his left, with 70 on the clock, to make it two for him and three for Hampton on the day.
Speaking on his newest recruit, Ryan Peters said: “I’m delighted to get Dan over the line. It was clear from the conversation that Dan was impressed with both our style of play, and the support package from the club.
“He has incredible pedigree alongside the physical profile necessary for the demands we put on our frontline.”
Following the signing, Daniel said: “I’m delighted to get it over the line and can’t wait to see the boys and get to work.”
Daniel’s playing style is sure to tick plenty of boxes for many United fans and fits the bill of Ryan Peters’ want to get ‘bums off seats’: “I’m a forward who loves to score goals and loves to excite fans – I feel like I thrive off of making the fans excited. You can expect a lot of work, runs in behind and most importantly score some goals.”
Looking ahead to his first season at York Road, Daniel’s ambitions were set: “On a personal note, I want to play as many games and contribute as well as I can for the team. And of course, for the team, is get back to the National League.”
Having played at this level last year, Daniel learned a lot both with the Rebels and the Beavers: “It was an up and down season, but I think I've learned a lot, obviously being a young lad. I've gained a lot of experience, playing with certain individuals, obviously having played Maidenhead twice last season, so I know what to expect and I know how well this club is run. So, when I heard about the opportunity to be here, it was a no-brainer for me.
“I know a few of the boys from last season, Josh Popoola and Josh Umerah, and they spoke so highly of the club, the gaffer and the fans.”
Daniel is avaialble to sponsor for the 2026/27 season. Please contact commercial@maidenheadunitedfc.org to find out more.
