Maidenhead United are delighted to welcome the return of young defender David Mantle, on an initial three-month loan deal.
The 19-year-old centre half joins from Premier League side Coventry City. Mantle’s progression through the ranks at City saw him appear 25 times for their under 18s side before moving into the under 21s set-up and even taking over the armband before joining United last time out.
He secured his first taste of senior minutes during the early parts of last season when he joined Weymouth on a short-term loan deal until December. Mantle then headed to Berkshire in January, during his loan spell at York Road, he made seven appearances for United including six consecutive starts throughout the winter months.
Upon welcoming David Mantle back to his squad, Ryan Peters said: "David came to us last season at a time where we needed an individual to provide us with stability. He was brilliant for us. He now comes back to us at a time where we need consistency and I know he will lead by example to make that happen."
David will wear number 19 for the duration of his stay, and is available for immediate selection.
David is available to sponsor for the 2026/27 season. Please contact commercial@maidenheadunitedfc.org to find out more.
Welcome back to Maidenhead United, David!
