Welcome: Finley Welch

Finley joins following a successful trial period at the club, which saw him feature against Penn & Tylers Green and Brackley Town. Playing in the middle of the park against Penn, our new midfielder was able to get on the scoresheet with a composed finish into the far corner late into the first half. 

 

Having come through Norwich City’s academy from the age of eleven, including making his first team debut as a substitute against Middlesborough in October 2024. Welch explored first team football with a cameo at Boston United where he would make a couple of appearances before injury cut it short. 

 

He has since plied his trade in South Korea with Chungbuk Cheongju, where he spent the early part of this year before departing in June. A spell that not only allowed him to regain match fitness but also learn in an environment abroad. 

 

Following the announcement of Finley’s signing, Ryan Peters said: “We have had success over the years with trialists shining in pre-season. Fin came in and has impressed with his performances in training and games, as well as his physical data. He will definitely bring a different element to our play this season.” 

 

In his first words since becoming a Magpie, Finley added: “I’m really happy to get the deal done and become a Maidenhead United player.  

 

"Everyone at the club has been brilliant with me since I first came in, and I’m excited to get going. I’ll be giving everything every time I step onto the pitch, and I can’t wait to play at York Road in front of the fans. Hopefully we can have a really successful season together.”
