Maidenhead United can confirm that our Women’s First Team manager Ed Jackson-Norris will be leaving his role in the middle of July after almost three seasons at the helm.

Jackson-Norris took charge of MUWFC in September 2022 after a turbulent start to the campaign. Turning defeats into points ensured survival in the FA Women’s National League, and was a catalyst for two successful seasons for our women’s team.

In 2024, Jackson-Norris led the team to its maiden Combined Counties Women’s League Cup. Izzy Stockton’s early opener was almost made redundant as Fulham answered back twice, but captain Sarah Thompson’s header saw the Magpies draw level with just minutes left on the clock. Five converted penalties were enough to secure the silverware at the 1878 Stadium following a season which saw MUWFC finish 8th, while Ed himself earned the Women's Game Manager of the Season at the Football in Berkshire Awards.
Jackson-Norris’ Magpies made it a second season in succession for the trophy cabinet, as a Berks and Bucks Senior Cup campaign culminated in an emphatic 3-1 win over Newport Pagnell in March this year.
During his time with the club, Jackson-Norris has played a pivotal role in the formation of a development team for women’s football in Maidenhead, while also playing a significant role in the formation of our MUFC Performance and Coach Development programmes over the past 18 months.

Ed will be missed by all at Maidenhead United, and we wish him nothing but the very best in his future endeavours.

We have now started the process of recruiting a new Women’s First Team manager and will be publishing separately further information about the role later today. Applications are open for this position. Candidates are encouraged to send their CV to our Head of Women’s Football, Tanya Davis-Hussain, via email. (treasurer@mufcjuniors.co.uk)
