OUR CLUB
Founded in 1870, Maidenhead United FC is one of the oldest football clubs in England.
We are proud to be a community-focused club, which has experienced significant progression over recent years across our elite & grassroots football and wider community programmes.
Our Men’s and Women’s teams are both playing at the highest levels in the club’s history, with the Men’s Team playing in the Vanarama National League and the Women’s Team playing in the FA Women’s National League Southwest League.
Our National League-accredited Maidenhead United FC Academy programme is delivered in partnership with Berkshire College of Agriculture.
Our Maidenhead United FC Juniors section has grown significantly since its establishment in 2019 and is now one of the largest grassroots football clubs in the Thames Valley, running boys and girls teams covering U7s to U18s age groups and with 650+ members (and growing!).
We also run an extensive community programme with our Maidenhead in the Community and Maidenhead United FC Community Trust teams deliver a range of football, wellbeing and education programmes with over 2,500 children, young people and adult participants a week.
WE ARE UNITED AS ONE
OUR COMMUNITY OBJECTIVES
People are at the heart of what we do, underpinned by the opportunities we create to build bridges and make personal connections in and across our community.
Our key community objectives are:
Sports Participation
Promote the benefits of sports and activity from a physical, mental and social viewpoint for all participants of all ages, abilities and disabilities from school children to over 70’s through a comprehensive schools visit programme and other evening and week-end late night initiatives.
Health & Wellbeing
Offer a range of healthy and engaging activity programmes addressing lifestyle choices and promoting the benefits of regular exercise and healthy diets to school children and families with the objective of improving long term health benefits.
Social Cohesion & Inclusion
Offer a range of projects targeting marginalised or disadvantaged groups particularly teenagers and young men at risk of mental health challenges. Any activities will be inclusive to reflect and promote integration amongst the diverse ethnic minority groups within our community.
OUR AIMS
To offer innovative and exciting programmes using football and other sports as a tool to motivate and inspire individuals and local communities to improve physical and emotional health and well being
To support player development pathways from grassroots football to academy level and beyond and see local players succeed
To make a positive difference to all members of our community by ensuring they remain connected to one another
To promote social responsibility, inclusion and tolerance, providing support to those who need help in order that they have respect for their community and are encouraged to make positive contributions locally themselves
