UNITED AS ONE

Dear all,

I hope everyone is enjoying the summer and raring to go for the new season starting on Saturday for the men and a few weeks later for the women.

Following the hugely disappointing news from RBWM last week, when they reneged on our previously signed contract to move to a site at Braywick Park, I wanted to reassure everyone connected with the club about our current and future position.

Firstly, despite rumours to the contrary, my family's commitment to the club has never been stronger. We are immensely proud of how we have turned the club around from bankruptcy to the strong vibrant community club we have today, starting our 7th campaign in the National League, with 56 junior teams, a flourishing academy, rapidly growing Women and Girls set up, and a huge community programme. We are truly unrecognisable from all those years ago!
As many of you are aware we own our York Road ground and, despite this recent disappointment, our future is in our own hands. We will take stock of our position before taking any decisions ensuring we do our best for both the current and future generations of Maidenhead United supporters and members.

I am very optimistic about the season starting and can’t wait to get going at York Road on Saturday. Your support as always will be vital to what we achieve on the pitch; a heaving and noisy York Road will always be my favourite moments as Chairman. Let’s get back to what we do best - defying the odds on and off the pitch.

Peter Griffin
Chairman
Maidenhead United FC
