UNITED AS ONE
We can confirm the signing of young and exciting right winger, David Omilabu.
Alan Devonshire has completed his latest signing with the arrival of 20-year-old David Omilabu, our ninth newcomer of the summer. The former Crystal Palace youngster – who has attracted interest from EFL clubs and overseas - has put pen to paper on a deal with Dev.

Omilabu signed his first professional deal with the Eagles in March 2021, helping Palace secure promotion to the Premier League 2 Divison 1 later that year after he scored an extra-time winner in the play-off semi-final against Wolves. The versatile frontman, who can play anywhere across the front three, featured more than 30 times last season for the South Londoners’ U21 side as he picked up eight goals and seven assists in all competitions. David has also featured in EFL Trophy games for Palace in 2021/22 and 2022/23, facing future Magpies team-mate Tobi Sho-Silva in a South London derby with Sutton United at Gander Green Lane in August 2021.

David explained:

“I’m a tricky striker that likes to drop in and receive the ball and run in behind. But I am also a right-winger who can beat my man, get crosses cut in, and shoot with my left foot.”

He continued:

“I was with Crystal Palace for 12 years, since I was eight years old. I played in the Academy and came through into PL2 in the last two years.”

A Londoner born to Nigerian parents, David graduated through the same Palace team as the likes of Jesurun Rak-Sakyi who came on as a substitute for the Eagles against Arsenal in the Sky Sports televised match on Monday night.

All at Maidenhead United wish David a fruitful spell with the Magpies and we look forward to seeing our new signing in action.
