Maidenhead United Galaxy U12s

 

The sun was shining and the boys were ready. Post some great preseason training sessions, friendlies, and holidays the team was very excited to get the Season going again. Also, they looked super stylish in the new club kit which they loved! 

 

The Summer saw the arrival of two new players; George & Max. Never easy joining a new club, or trying to form new friendships with a group of players who have been together for several years. Their attitude has been brilliant and they both hit the ground running with their own style & personality. Also supported by amazing families who turned up to support and encourage them. 

 

Today, I couldn't be any prouder of the boys. The way they played, the way they moved the ball you would think they had been playing together for years... brand new formation, 2 new players, players in different positions, just started secondary school…the change was real...however, it was a masterclass with a 7-1 win. When they move the ball quickly, transition as a team, and take in advice from coaches at each interval they show how punishing they can be. Every player played their part today which is what is most impressive. They stuck to their role, worked hard for the team, won the ball back out of possession, and played like a family. Covering one another, High fives, and even some dancing at the end... Love it! Galaxy is a Family is our mantra…and no better way to show it than on the pitch! 

 

Overall, cracking display. Still, lots to work on, the big focus will be playing for the team and not letting goals become their only individual focus, transitioning as a team, and wanting to win the ball back at every opportunity.
