The Magpies women blasted their way into the Combined Counties League Women’s Cup semi-final with a six-gun show against Queens Park Rangers on Thursday night at Arbour Park, Slough.

United led early on through Natasha Rasmussen’s first goal for the club but they were pegged back almost immediately by an Ellie Searle equalizer for Rangers. The West London side then had the better of the exchanges for a period, with Rosie Wilmott-Joyce pulling off a magnificent save before United turned the screw before half time with Simone O’Brien scoring twice, once from the penalty spot.

Into the second period, Maidenhead started like a house on fire and had the game tied up just after the hour mark. Within moments of the second half Macey Nikiah-Walters scored a clever right-footed goal before Rasmussen made it a brace for the evening. The scoring was rounded off by a virtuoso goal by RJ Jauad-Taborda to leave manager Ed Jackson-Norris purring over a fourth win in five matches.

The Magpies will now face a semi-final at Watford, provisionally arranged for next Thursday 9th May. Full arrangements for this match will be shared across our media accounts as soon as possible.
