MUFC Futsal have Europe in mind

 

There was cause for celebration for MUFC Futsal Men at the weekend as their final game of the regular National Futsal Series Tier 1 season – their first season at the top level of the game in England – saw them secure a place in the top four and the end of season play-offs. 

 

Coming from behind in their match against third-placed Bolton, which was broadcast by TNT Sports, United claimed a magnificent 4-1 win thanks to goals from Daniel Abrahamson, Philip Lant, James Grant, and Jacob Evans. 

 

United will now face unbeaten divisional champions Manchester over two matches over the next fortnight, buoyed by the fact that they are one of two teams to have taken points off the top side this season. Success in the play-offs would see Maidenhead take their place in the European qualifiers! 

 

The first leg against Manchester will take place at 2pm on Sunday 12th May 2024 at Repton School. 

 

Meanwhile it has been an excellent season also for MUFC Futsal Women, who finished as runners up in the southern-region Tier 2.
