Reece Brown wrote on our away victory at Meadowbank.
The Magpies picked up their first 3 points of the season, as they beat Dorking Wanderers 2-0 at Meadowbank. Alan Devonshire made one change to his side that drew 2-2 at home to Fylde on the opening day, as Remy Clerima dropped to the bench and was replaced by Jayden Mitchell-Lawson for his Maidenhead debut.

After an uneventful opening 10 minutes, the first chance of the game fell the host's way, as after some nice buildup play Craig Ross was forced into a save, pushing the effort past the post.

The Magpies had their first chance a few minutes later after Reece Smith dispossessed Kuhl on the edge of the Dorking penalty area, but Harrison Male got down well to prevent the midfielder from squaring it across goal.

Maidenhead's pressure forced another mistake soon after, as Shawn McCoulsky picked up a loose ball in the Dorking half, but he fired his long-range strike over the goal.

5 minutes before half-time, Mitchell-Lawson intercepted a pass from Tony Craig, and played the ball across to Shawn McCoulsky, but the striker couldn’t hit the target with his effort.

HALF TIME - Dorking Wanderers 0 - 0 Maidenhead United

It took over 10 minutes for either side to have a chance, but the first one of the half fell to the Magpies. Mitchell-Lawson beat his man for pace, played a ball across the box which found Reece Smith at the back post, who poked the ball wide.

Just after the hour mark, Maidenhead finally had the ball in the back of the net. McCoulsky cut onto his right foot inside the box and placed the ball past Male into the bottom right corner to give his side the lead.

With 15 minutes to go, the Magpies went down to 10 men. The ball was knocked past Asare, who fouled his man and picked up his second yellow card of the game.

Dorking came close to levelling things in stoppage time, as Ottoway cut inside on the edge of the box, and his shot cannoned back off the far post before being cleared away by Maidenhead.

Nathaniel-George sealed the 3 points for Maidenhead deep into stoppage time, picking up the rebound of Pettits shot, cutting onto his left foot, and firing into the far corner from close range.
