UNITED AS ONE
Maidenhead made it four games unbeaten with an empahatic win under the lights.
Maidenhead claimed all 3 points at York Road, as goals from Casey Pettit, Sam Beckwith and Shawn McCoulsky saw the Magpies beat Hartlepool United 3-1.

Alan Devonshire made 2 changes from the Magpie lineup who drew 2-2 with Barnet on Saturday. Sam Barratt and Reece Smith both returned to the starting eleven in place of Ashley Nathaniel-George and Shawn McCoulsky.

Maidenhead came flying out of the blocks and almost had the lead in the opening minutes. Sam Barratt launched a long throw into the box which was met by Clerima, whose header forced a good save from Jameson.

The Magpies continued their strong start, as they attacked down the left wing, with the ball falling to Casey Pettit just outside the box, but his curling effort flew just over the bar.

The hosts finally had the breakthrough before the 15 minute mark, as Sam Barratts floated a corner to the back post which Will De Havilland headed down into the path of Casey Pettit to smash home from close range.

Sam Barratt almost doubled the Magpies lead, as he beat his man down the left wing, drove into the box and his powerful strike stung the hands of Peter Jameson, as he pushed behind for a corner.

The wideman had another great chance before the break, as he won possession back once again down the left flank, carried the ball into the box before unleashing a left footed strike which flicked off the far post and behind for a goal kick.

HALF TIME - Maidenhead United 1 - 0 Hartlepool United

Hartlepool started the second half well, and drew level within the first five minutes. A cross into the box found its way to Callum Cooke on the edge of the area, where he struck a half volley into the bottom left corner.

Maidenhead looked to restore their advantage instantly, and Sam Barratt looked to try his luck from range, but his driven strike was well saved by Jameson, tipping behind for a corner.

The visitors came close to taking the lead just after the hour mark. Hartlepools attackers linked up well, as Joe Grey found himself through on goal, but his effort deflected behind for a corner.

Shawn McCoulsky had a great chance to make an instant impact, as he found himself one-on-one with Jameson, who stood strong and pushed behind for a corner.

Moments later, Maidenhead retook the lead. Hartlepool cleared a corner only as far as Sam Beckwith, and the left back cut onto his right foot, curling one off the defender into the back of the net.

McCoulsky would get redemption 5 minutes from full time, as he doubled the Magpies lead. Mitchell-Lawson danced past a number of defenders before sliding a ball to the back post where substitute Shawn McCoulsky was to tap home.
