UNITED AS ONE
Maidenhead United was saddened to hear that former player Darti Brown has been diagnosed with a rare one-in-one-million aggressive form of terminal cancer, Cardiac Sarcoma.
Darti signed for Johnson Hippolyte’s Magpies in December 2006 having previously captained a Yeading side managed by Drax to promotion. Within months, Darti had another promotion on his CV, considered by some in attendance at the Southern League Premier Play-Off final victory over Team Bath at Twerton Park to have been the Magpies ‘Man of the Match’ on the day. Darti made 67 starts for the Magpies in addition to 3 substitute appearances, scoring 4 times during a memorable period for the club.

The rareness of the disease means that research is limited. However, Darti’s family is appealing for support to fund medical bills for specialised treatments and ongoing care. No matter how big or small. As a recently bereaved widower himself and a parent, every donation, every share, and every kind word of encouragement will make a difference to Darti and his loved ones.

Anyone wanting to make a kind donation is warmly welcome.
